Responsibilities of the Medical Reviewer
In this role, the Medical Reviewer will be responsible for key functions related to pharmacovigilance and clinical research. These include:
- Medical Review:
- Conduct thorough reviews of clinical cases, including solicited and spontaneous adverse event reports.
- Ensure comprehensive assessments of adverse events, including detailed documentation.
- Causality Assessment:
- Evaluate and document causality, seriousness, and other relevant medical history such as laboratory data and concomitant medications.
- Knowledge Development:
- Stay updated with the latest disease biology and safety concerns regarding marketed and developmental drugs.
- Support Drug Safety Teams:
- Offer medical insights and support for ensuring high-quality processing of adverse event data.
- Client Interaction:
- Represent the safety physician team in both internal and external forums.
- Address queries related to individual case safety reports from clients and regulatory bodies.
- Compliance Assurance:
- Ensure that all processes adhere to global and local regulations as well as TCS’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Medical Reviewer role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: An MBBS degree is preferred, but experienced candidates with B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D, B.Sc, or M.Sc are also considered.
- Experience: A minimum of 9 months to 4 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or clinical research, particularly with a focus on drug safety.
