Job Role: Medical Coding Trainee
As a Medical Coding Trainee, you will play a vital role in interpreting medical records and clinical documentation to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. You will be trained to work with coding standards such as ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS.
Job Responsibilities
- Medical Record Interpretation: Review clinical documents and assign accurate medical codes.
- Coding Standards: Use ICD-10-CM for diagnosis codes, CPT-4 for procedure codes, and HCPCS codes.
- Accuracy & Productivity: Maintain over 96% coding accuracy and meet productivity standards.
- Continuous Learning: Improve coding skills through regular feedback from the quality and training team.
- Emergency Department Coding: Focus on mastering coding in emergency department scenarios.
