Job Title: Research Scientist / Sr. Research Scientist – Intellectual Property Management

As a Research Scientist or Senior Research Scientist in the Intellectual Property Management department, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks that support the company’s innovation efforts, including literature and patent searches, Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis, and knowledge management services.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be required to perform a variety of important functions that ensure the company remains competitive in the ever-evolving landscape of agri-chemical and pharmaceutical research:

• Conduct Literature and Patent Searches
  You will carry out thorough literature reviews and patent searches to gather data on existing scientific and technical advancements. This will help PI Industries identify opportunities for innovation and ensure they are aware of current trends in their field.
• Perform Freedom to Operate (FTO) Analysis
  You will be responsible for conducting FTO analysis, which is a critical component of ensuring that PI Industries can commercialize their innovations without infringing on existing patents. This role requires an in-depth understanding of patent law and the ability to analyze complex legal documents.
• Provide Knowledge Management Services
  In addition to research and analysis, you will support knowledge management by maintaining and updating databases, ensuring that the latest scientific information is readily available to the R&D teams. Required Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:

• PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Biotechnology: Candidates with a PhD should have 0-5 years of experience in intellectual property management, including patent search and FTO analysis.
• M.Sc. in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Biotechnology or M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Candidates with an M.Sc. or M.Pharma qualification should have 2-10 years of relevant experience in research and patent analysis.
