Quality Assurance Specialist – Hershey Syrup | Food Technology Expertise Required
Overview
Hershey Syrup is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) professional to join our team. This position is ideal for a Food Technology graduate with extensive experience in the chocolate industry. The selected candidate will work closely with the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Quality Assurance, overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining quality management systems.

Major Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the quality and safety of Hershey Syrup products. Key duties include:
Daily Operations:
- Online QA Monitoring: Supervise online quality assurance checks for real-time monitoring of processes.
- Shift Management: Oversee and manage shift activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Documentation & Records: Maintain and verify records related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Audits & Compliance:
- Internal & External Audits: Conduct and participate in audits, ensuring compliance with FSSAI and FSSC standards.
- Non-Conformance Management: Address audit non-conformances, implement corrective actions (CAPA), and submit closure reports.
- Food Safety Implementation: Drive food safety initiatives and ensure compliance with Hershey’s Product Excellence Program (PEP).
Quality Assurance:
- Raw Material (RM) & Packaging Material (PM) Analysis: Oversee the analysis and acceptance of raw and packaging materials.
- Finished Goods (FG) Release: Ensure that finished goods meet quality standards before release.
- Monthly KPI Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for the plant’s four production lines.
Training & Development:
- Employee Training: Train food handlers on GMP and other relevant safety protocols.
- Encourage a ‘Right First Time’ Culture: Promote a culture of quality where employees are held accountable for their work.
New Product Trials:
- R&D Collaboration: Work with Research & Development (R&D) teams on new product trials, focusing on innovation, expansion, and extension.
- Supplier Audits: Conduct audits of suppliers and third-party operations to ensure they meet Hershey’s quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive MSS and EMMP: Lead the implementation of Manufacturing Standardization System (MSS) and Enterprise Manufacturing Management Process (EMMP) at the plant.
- Plant-Level Excellence: Implement Hershey’s Product Excellence Program guidelines at the plant level to improve overall food safety and product quality.
